The law that became effective in 2006 mandates formal education for park owners or managers. At
least one person who has authority to manage a park must complete six hours of continuing education
every two years. The person should be the manager or owner, if one lives on-site or off-site. If there isnt
an on-site or off-site manager, then it should be the owner.
The first step, though, is registering. The law requires every manufactured dwelling facility to register
with the Oregon Housing and Community Services (www.ohcs.oregon.gov).
If you dont have web
access, you can call them to request a form at: 800-453-5511.
Course material includes an overview of landlord tenant law and fair housing as both apply to parks,
common problems most park managers face, how forms can work for you, and plenty of time for your
questions. Come with your questions; we will have answers.
